Re: Proposed changes to the Macedonian Constitution
Dear Minister,
We write to respond to your invitation to comment on the proposed constitutional changes. We wish to express strong opposition from the Macedonians of Adelaide and South Australia to the proposed constitutional amendments.
These changes will alter the balance of power in the Republic so that the minority Albanian community will be able to exert influence disproportionate to it’s numbers. It is vitally important in our view that the Republic symbolically remains the homeland of the Macedonian people, as there is no other state which can provide security for the aspirations of our people, who have historically suffered great injustice.
Our people believe that Macedonians should make decisions about the fate of the Macedonian homeland, rather than a combination of international and minority interests.
If the Framework Agreement is implemented through constitutional changes, then Macedonians will forfeit their status as a sovereign people.
We must not allow this to happen at any cost!
Yours Sincerely
The Macedonian Community of Adelaide & South Australia Incorporated

President
